Szczesny at Château de Bénat and Fort de Brégançon

Sculptures by Stefan Szczesny at Château de Bénat and Château de Brégançon — Summer 2026

From June 26 to August 23, 2026, the coast of Bormes-les-Mimosas will embrace contemporary art: Château de Bénat will host German artist Stefan Szczesny for a sculpture exhibition, with several works also displayed at Château de Brégançon from July 1 to September 1, offering an exceptional artistic journey between these two emblematic Var locations.

For over forty years, Stefan Szczesny has been developing a luminous body of work, imbued with the joy of life, the beauty of the body, and the energy of gesture. His cut-steel sculptures — female silhouettes, dancers, monumental bouquets — with their sensual forms and clean lines, engage in direct dialogue with the generous nature and Mediterranean light of the Var coast.

Yoyo Maeght's Lecture

In parallel, Yoyo Maeght — gallerist, publisher, exhibition curator, and author of the best-selling La Saga Maeght — will give her lecture on July 27 - 5:30 PM.

She will retrace the adventure of her grandfather Aimé Maeght, a young orphan from the North who became friends with the greatest artists of the 20th century — Miró, Chagall, Braque, Giacometti, Calder — and the founder of the Maeght Foundation in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. An hour and a half of storytelling and exchanges with the public, followed by a book signing.
