THIERRY LEFORT - Land of Wines

welcomes the works of the artist Thierry Lefort.
Originally from France but nourished by the vibrant essence of Los Angeles, Lefort draws his inspiration from the vitality of the City of Angels. His painting, anchored in the Californian universe, skillfully combines figuration and abstraction, thus offering a striking vision of American modernity. In each painting, the artist invites a rediscovery of beauty, far from any fidelity to reality. For Lefort, the urban landscape becomes the fertile ground where lines, shadows, colors and shapes combine to create a subtle balance between figuration and abstraction. Beyond his technical mastery, Thierry Lefort reveals a deep reflection in his creative process. He says he spends weeks mentally designing the composition of a painting, long before applying the first touch of paint. This fusion of meticulous reflection and spontaneity in execution gives his work a dimension that is both thoughtful and spontaneous, thus captivating the viewer with its multiple layers of interpretation. Thierry Lefort's exhibition at the Château de Malleret in 2024 becomes a vibrant symbol of Franco-American artistic exchange on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the twinning between Bordeaux and Los Angeles. Orchestrated by Yoyo Maeght, this exhibition fully embodies the spirit of exchange and sharing characteristic of the twinning between the two cities, thus illuminating the deep links between cultures and highlighting the artistic richness that unites these two worlds.
